Event Overview

Join us for a fun and educational day celebrating Florida’s coastal ecosystems! From hands-on crafts and interactive seagrass activities to live animal programs and guided nature walks, this family-friendly event offers something for all ages. Drop in anytime between programs to explore, learn, and connect with our coastal environment.

Event Hours: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

(Included with daily admission to the Coastal Center)


Ongoing / Drop-In Activities

Available continuously from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

  • Recycled magazine bead necklaces and paper mask crafts

  • Seagrass dichotomous coloring activity

  • Seagrass touch experience (Blue Canopy)

  • Seagrass Research 101 (Wet Lab Awning)

  • Animal Care Team feedings (scheduled intermittently)

  • Food truck: Don’t Panic, It’s Organic


Guided & Timed Experiences

10:00 a.m.

  • Mangrove & Seagrass “Mardi Grass” Walk
    Guided nature walk introducing mangrove and seagrass habitats

~10:45 a.m. (Immediately following the walk)

  • Behind-the-Scenes Tour
    Limited capacity; available to walk participants only

10:30 a.m.

  • Stingray Program

11:00 a.m.

  • Gamefish Program

11:30 a.m.

  • Sea Turtle Program

12:15 p.m.

  • Mangrove & Seagrass “Mardi Grass” Walk
