Volunteer Appreciation Week

About the Event

Our volunteers keep us going, not only with the time and energy they provide, but also by setting examples of inspiration. Their dedication, support, expertise, suggestions, love and humor make us grateful every day.

Although we try to appreciate and thank our volunteers each day of every month, we would like to offer a special thank you for Volunteer Appreciation Week.  Let's reflect on the great accomplishments of our volunteers in 2019!

*Exhibit Guides spent over 6,300 hours educating guests at our Coastal Center

*Green Team gardeners spent over 700 hours maintaining our gardens and removing exotic plants

*Animal Care volunteers donated 300 hours helping maintain our animals and aquariums

*Oyster and seagrass restoration programs benefited from over 5300 volunteer hours

*Beach and roadway cleanup crews gave over 300 hours

*Water testers spent over 2,000 hours  conducting tests in our local waterways

*Outreach volunteers spent over 280 hours inspiring the community while sharing our mission

*Maintenance and development volunteers contributed nearly 300 hours assisting staff

*Committee volunteers contributed vast amounts of time and energy into their events

*Hours donated by our Board of Directors are priceless

We could not do what we do as well as we do without each and every one of our FABULOUS volunteers. From the entire staff at FOS we thank each and every one of you.
