Not-So-Spooky Spider Stroll

About the Event

As Halloween approaches, many people’s thoughts turn to “creepy” spiders. We’d like the chance to change your perception from “creepy” to “cool!!” Join Education Manager (and spider fanatic!) Shannon Dack for a leisurely walk around the Coastal Center’s nature trail, where you’ll learn a bunch of fun and fascinating facts about these beneficial arachnids. This walk is held before the Coastal Center opens to the public to maximize spider viewing opportunities.

Space is limited and preregistration is required.  Please register below.

Program Details

  • Program will be held at the Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center.
  • The hour-long nature trail walk will begin promptly 9:30 a.m.
  • Please arrive at the Coastal Center’s main entrance no later than 9:25 a.m. Late arrivals will not be able to join the trail walk in progress.
  • This program will cover approximately one mile on the Coastal Center’s nature trail, which is made up of wooden boardwalk and sections of hard-packed shell rock.
  • We will typically not cancel the program in the event of light rain, so bring a raincoat if rain is in the forecast. Lightning or heavy rain may result in delay of program or cancellation.

Restrictions

  • There are no age restrictions for this program, but guests under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult guardian.

Cancellation Policy

  • No refunds or date swaps will be granted if cancelled within seven days of your reserved date. Due to the popularity and off-hour timing of this program, last-minute cancellations will be considered a donation to support education at Florida Oceanographic Society.
  • If Florida Oceanographic Society must cancel a program, refunds will be issued, but date changes cannot be guaranteed.
  • If less than two guests register for a given date, that walk will be cancelled. Impacted participants will be rescheduled or can request a refund.
