Seagrass Restoration Prep Event

About the Event

In preparation for our seagrass matting events this month we are looking for volunteers to help cut large rolls of burlap into specified lengths. If you can use scissors and cut in a straight line this might be the perfect volunteer opportunity for you. This project is an integral part of our FOSTER (Florida Oceanographic Seagrass Training Education Restoration) program. This event is outdoors under tents so please wear comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes, a hat, and sunglasses and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.  Feel free to bring your lunch or snack. Facial coverings must be worn when not eating or drinking. Please note the minimum age of participants is 18 years of age. We’ll meet you outside of our Visitors Center Building. If interested but can’t attend the entire time please contact Rosemary Badger. Due to COVID-19 we have limited space available for this event, so please RSVP. For more information contact Rosemary Badger.
