Seagrass Matting (FULL)

About the Event

Help us create seagrass mats that will be used to restore seagrass meadows in the Indian River Lagoon. This project is an integral part of our FOSTER (Florida Oceanographic Seagrass Training Education Restoration) program. We will be attaching seagrass fragments to pre-cut burlap mats. No experience needed, but must have nimble fingers. This event is outdoors in our Group Pavilion. Wear clothes that can get a bit wet and dirty, shoes, and please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Please note the minimum age for this event is 5 years old. Participants under 18 years of age must be signed in and accompanied by an adult who is also registered for and participating in the event. We’ll meet you outside of Admissions.

Registration closes on Friday, May 6th at 2pm, or when full.
