Private “after-hours” tours of the Coastal Center

We are excited to announce a brand new educational program for families and small groups.  For the first time ever, we are offering private guided tours of the Coastal Center during our closed hours.  We have decided to offer these exclusive after-hours opportunities to families and small groups who would like to access our property without having to interact with other guests.  Maximum group size for private tours is 12 individuals.  The following private tour options are currently available:

Monday and Tuesday Private Tours (The Coastal Center is closed to the public all day)

These are longer private tours, lasting approximately 2 hours.  We can customize the tour to your family’s needs, but a typical Monday/Tuesday tour starts at 10:00 am or 1:00 pm, and includes a ray presentation (you will get to feed the rays), a presentation about Florida’s water quality issues and algae blooms (you will get to assist with feeding the fish in our 750,000 gallon aquarium), a sea turtle presentation, and a short nature trail walk.  Dr. Zack Jud, Florida Oceanographic Society’s Director of Education, will be your tour guide for Monday and Tuesday tours.  As a bonus, your tour includes a free, one-year Family Membership to Florida Oceanographic Society valued at $125.  This Family Membership allows unlimited visits to the Coastal Center for you and your immediate family for an entire year (as well as other Membership benefits).

Tour Price: $400 per family (max 12 guests)

Wednesday through Sunday Private Tours (The Coastal Center closes to the public at 3:30 pm)

These are shorter private tours, running from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm.  They include a ray presentation (you will get to touch the rays, but not feed them), a presentation about Florida’s water quality issues and algae blooms at our 750,000 gallon aquarium (but no feeding), and a sea turtle presentation.  We can modify this schedule to meet your family’s needs (other options include a short nature trail walk or a visit to our touch tank).  These tours are led by Florida Oceanographic Society’s staff of highly trained and passionate marine science educators.  As a bonus, your tour includes a free, one-year Family Membership to Florida Oceanographic Society valued at $125.  This Family Membership allows unlimited visits to the Coastal Center for you and your immediate family for an entire year (as well as other Membership benefits).

Tour Price: $300 (max 12 guests)
