Oyster Reef Deployment-Afternoon (FULL)

About the Event

Participate in our next reef deployment where we will be building oyster reefs as part of a living shoreline using oyster bags and plastic-free modules. Oyster bags and plastic-free modules are made from recycled oyster shell and serve as a hard structure for oysters to settle on. We will be carrying and placing the 10-pound bags and 15-pound modules from the shore into knee-deep water. Please wear clothes that can get wet and dirty, a hat, and sunglasses. Closed toe shoes are required. Please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Gloves will be provided. Please also note the minimum age of participants is 16 years of age, with those under 18 needing parental signature. This deployment will be at a local site in Stuart. Participants will be notified of address a few days before the deployment.
