Florida Oceanographic has been advocating for the health of our waterways for 50 years. In 2013, the Treasure Coast once again experienced the ecological, financial and recreational impact of a failed Kissimmee-Okeechobee-Everglades flowway. We were amidst an environmental crisis for almost 5 months, as the Martin County health department deemed the St. Lucie Estuary and Indian River Lagoon toxic and urged residents to avoid contact with our treasured waterways. Florida Oceanographic remains vigilant in the fight for our waterways with Mark Perry as one of the principal advocates in the state.
We need the ongoing support of this community to further our efforts. Florida Oceanographic is excited to have the leading financial firms working together to raise awareness and funds to benefit Florida Oceanographic Society's advocacy, education, research and restoration initiatives. Change will happen when we work together and demand action!
